Blue 52 by Elaine Cantrell, Virtual Book Tour with Interview & ♥GIVEAWAY♥ (Mainstream Romance)

Author: Elaine Cantrell
Title: Blue 52
Genre: Mainstream Romance

Synopsis:

"First Lady Kills President Lovinggood"
December 29, 2018

Thirty years later Hank Lovinggood embarks on a quest to prove his mother's innocence and punish the killers who took his family from him. Together Hank and lovely physicist Kathryn Sinclair confront an implacable, twisted, merciless enemy who'll do whatever it takes to hide the truth forever.

Excerpt:

“Do you have feelings for me, Hank? Your grandmother thinks you do.”

Hank hopped off the bed and joined her at the window. He put his arms around her from behind and pulled her against him. His lips brushed the side of her neck. “You know I do.”

“No,” Kathryn mused. “I don’t know. How do you feel about me?” She pulled out of Hank’s arms and turned around to face him. “You like making love to me. I know that, but tell me if there’s anything more.”

Hank smiled and stroked her lovely face. Her cheek felt smooth and silky beneath his fingers, softer even than his mother’s green velvet dress that still hung in the room beside his. “Don’t pretend you don’t know that I love you.”

Kathryn melted against him and almost purred with satisfaction. “I love you too.” She laughed softly and gave Hank a little shake. “How can I be in love with a man who doesn’t care about physics?”

“Beats me. How could I be in love with a woman who’s braver than I am?”

Kathryn pulled out of his arms. “Braver than you are?”

“Yeah, I’m scared to death, but you don’t seem worried at all.”

“Appearances can be deceiving.” Kathryn dropped a kiss on the front of his shoulder. “Since we’re both so nervous, I recommend a little physical therapy. It’s guaranteed to relax us.”

Hank grinned and teased her lips with his. “Physical therapy, huh?”

“Nothing’s better for stress.”

Hank closed the curtains, cocooning them in privacy, and took Kathryn by the hand. “Let Counselor Lovinggood help you with your stress, Dr. Sinclair.”

“How kind of you to offer.”

His hand went to the tie on her robe, and she kissed him.

I Had the Opportunity to Interview
Elaine about Blue 52

1)     Q: You certainly have quite the resume! Did you always know you wanted to be an educator?
A: Nope, I sure didn’t. I wanted to be a ballerina of all things. I can’t walk on a level surface without tripping over my feet. I’m also short and stocky, not ballerina material.

2)     Q: All historians have a favorite area of history. What is yours?
A:  I’m partial to the European Middle Ages. It was a time of great adventure, treachery, devotion to the church, romance, and suffering on a terrible scale.

3)     Q: You mentioned in your short biography that you like to travel. Where would you like to venture that you haven't already been?
A: One of two places-Greece or Russia. If I had to pick, I guess I’d go to Greece. Or maybe Russia, no, Greece…

4)     Q: Your books span many sub-genres of "romance," including contemporary, fantasy and suspense. Which is your favorite to write?
A: Fantasy is the most fun to write, but I’m mainly a contemporary writer. I find that in many of my books I cross genres.

5)     Q: Was Blue 52 inspired by any specific person or event?
A: Yes, an event. I read an article about a German code used in World War II, the Enigma code. I started to think that a secret code would be pretty cool, and since I wanted to write a sequel to Return Engagement, I decided to put a code in Blue 52.

6)     Q: What was the biggest challenge of writing Blue 52?
A: Wrapping it up. Truly, I never wanted the story to end. I was well over 100,000 words before I quit, and then I had to go back and cut scenes. I could’ve cried.

7)     Q: And lastly, what do you hope to impart to the readers of Blue 52?
A: I want them to realize that the human spirit knows no limits. All you need is faith in yourself and a willingness to do something new, big, and possibly dangerous. And I hope             everyone will always believe in happy endings.

I've always wanted to be a dancer~ such grace, poise and beauty~ but alas I'm a klutz as well howbeit the exact opposite of you. I'm tall and awkward with legs like stilts! Definitely not ballerina material.
Thanks for sharing the personal anecdotes today.
