Summer Girl by A.S. Green ♥ Review, Book Tour & GIVEAWAY ♥ (New Adult Romance)

A songwriter is nothing without his muse. Sucks that mine turns out to be Katherine D’Arcy––hot as hell, but the very definition of country-club living and everything I came to this quiet little island to escape. Still…I can’t complain about the beauty tumbling out of my guitar. It’s not long before I can barely keep up––not with the music, not with her body, and definitely not with her heart. There’s an unexpected bravery and fire hiding behind the rigidity of her day-planner, and I’ll be damned if she keeps it hidden. She makes me hope for a future I never thought possible. A future for us. Together. If only there wasn’t that one inconvenient truth, that one minor chord, clashing dissonant and inharmonious between us. For now she can’t hear it, and I’m grateful for that. I wish I could hide the truth from her forever. Or at least, a little while longer… But it’s time for her true beauty to shine through, even if it means she chooses to leave me behind.

If you like NA romance, you will LOVE this book!

New Adult romance usually isn't my first choice. But holy cow, I was SUCKED IN to this book. Couldn't put it down! The story moved at a perfect pace, and A.S. Did a fantastic job of keeping me sucked in by dropping little hints about a huge mystery that I couldn't wait to see solved!

I loved Katherine. Her inner monologues gave me some good chuckles, and I enjoyed watching her grow as a person throughout the book.

And Bennet. Oh my gosh. You WILL dump your current book boyfriend for Bennet. Thoughtful, wise, tough yet sensitive. And HOT. Let's not forget that attribute!

I was almost in tears at a couple parts, and again, the suspense of finding out about the mystery and how everything would turn out in the end made this story absolutely enthralling.

I thought the final scene could have had a little more of a "POW!" moment, but I have absolutely zero complaints about this book! A.S. Is incredibly talented, and I can't wait to read more of her books!

***I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***

♥ “Econ has been the bane of my existence this whole semester, and now that it's over I feel like I could sing. Except that I can't. So I don't. (Katherine)”

♥ “That makes you human. Everyone has to belong to something.' (Katherine)
'I'm wondering if I might belong with you.' (Bennet)”

♥ “Because you've been giving me happy for months now. All my life I've been looking for it. I didn't know what I was looking for, exactly. Only that I'd know it when I found it. You're it. You're my happily ever after. (Bennet)”

♥ “Can you imagine loving someone so much that you'd try to bring the whole world to them, just so they'd be happy? (Katherine)”

It’s official. Katherine D’Arcy is the worst painter ever born. I chuckle low, under my breath. She’s so beautiful, I assumed it would translate into beauty at the end of her brush. Hardly.
Fuck, if she doesn’t look adorable trying to make something of the muddy puddle of paint. Annnd...now it’s dripping off the edge of the paper. So funny. So damn irresistible.
Why am I sitting so far away from her again? Oh, right. Because if I were any closer I’d have her on her back and neither of us would be getting anything done. This day is for her. Keep yourself in check.
Katherine frowns at her work, but I’ve got to give her credit. She doesn’t give up. I can admire that more than any painting. I wish for the same perseverance because the song I’m working on is seriously kicking my ass.
This is not because I’m distracted by Katherine. Far from it. I wouldn’t have the words I do have if not for her. She gives me so much to work with I don’t know where to start. She’s like a fairy princess sitting there on that mound. Her dark hair is set off against the lush green of the woods. Tiny red flowers lie like confetti in a circle around her. She leans in close to get a better look...
If I could paint a word-picture to capture this moment, and find exactly the right chords, this would be something to show Jordan. For now, there are only a few lyrics in my notebook:

Traveling girl, sets my heart in a whirl
Eyes so bright in a face so fair, painted flowers in her hair
Traveling girl, pack my bags and go
To a place I’ve never known

It’s close to something good. Not quite right, but there’s promise.

A. S. Green lives in the cold upper Midwest with her husband and three children. She spends summers on Lake Superior, which is the muse for Summer Girl, and she is a sucker for down-to-earth heroes who work with their hands (if they play guitar, that’s an added bonus). She enjoys all things Irish––particularly music, dancing, and Jameson. When she’s not writing or reading romance, she’s traveling, camping, blogging for Writer Unboxed, and writing YA (under her real name). You can find her online at www.asgreenbooks.com and follow her on Twitter and Facebook at @asgreenbooks.
