Mystic Maples by Tena Stetler 💕 Behind the Scenes, Book Tour & Gift Card Giveaway 💕 (Paranormal Romance)

Earth/Fire witch Mercy Rose's insatiable curiosity always gets her in trouble. After a break-in at her Colorado flower shop, and a court battle that comes to a screeching halt in her favor, she arrives at Deerbourne Inn for a much-needed getaway. Looking for peace and quiet, she finds just the opposite in a startling handsome but mysterious man and his dog.

Silvanus Forrest's gypsy/fae heritage is a double-edged sword. The land he inherited from his parents is rumored to be enchanted. But when Mercy discovers the truth, his well-ordered life unravels, and they're catapulted into the past to right a wrong. Along the way their lives intertwine, and they discover the true meaning of family and love. Will they change the past in time to save their future?

Mystic Maples is a Deerbourne Inn Novel. This series was the brain child of The Wild Rose Press. Several of their authors, me included jumped aboard to include the Deerbourne Inn and it’s history in each of our books. There are all type of Genres included from historical to contemporary and mystery to paranormal. Some are romance, like Mystic Maples which includes elements of time travel, magic, witches, an adorable dog, and gypsy lore.

Each day while creating Mystic Maples, I’d check the publisher’s site where the town itself was set up, the map of streets, buildings, businesses and original events. The history of the Inn was included along with the employees, layout of the Inns and structure of the outside building. This is also where the synopsis of each book approved lived. All the authors involved would leave questions for other authors on their characters, the events common to the town of Willow Springs or new events created, and changing landscape. It was great fun to incorporate various places, characters and events from other Deerbourne Inn books into Mystic Maples and have elements of my book in theirs. This was the second time I’d been involved in a multi-author series and I just love it.

I couldn’t plot my way out of a paper bag, so all my books are written by the seat of my pants so to speak (panster vs plotter). My characters control the story, plot, and action. Many times I am surprised by some events and the ending. I write my chapters and scenes out of order, depending upon which of my characters has gained control, but in the end it all comes together in a fantasy adventure you won’t want to end.

As Silvanus walked down the path, the young woman from the inn was standing at his truck, conversing with Rag-a-Muffin through the partially open window. Raga wasn’t even barking. “Her name’s Raga, short for Rag-a-Muffin.” He grinned.

He was surprised when she jumped. Her curls bounced around her shoulders as she held her hand to her heart and whirled to face him. Her eyes were a bit disconcerting.

“Whew, you scared me. What a beautiful dog. The white fur patches around her big brown eyes really set them off. She seems sweet, though I didn’t try to pet her.”

Transfixed, he stared at her for a couple beats. Her eyes were mesmerizing, one emerald green and the other the brightest blue he’d ever seen. He blinked and looked at Raga for a second. It was rude to stare. Finally he found his voice. “She has a history, but she seems to like you.”

Red patches bloomed on her cheeks. “Don’t we all. I best be on my way.” She turned on her heel and hurried down the street.

“Wait… I didn’t get your name?” His question was too late. She was either already out of hearing distance or didn’t want to acknowledge him.

Tena Stetler is a best-selling author of award winning paranormal romance. She has an over-active imagination, which led to writing her first vampire romance as a tween to the chagrin of her mother and delight of her friends. After many years as a paralegal, then an IT Manager, she decided to live out her dream of pursuing a publishing career.

With the Rocky Mountains outside her window, she sits at her computer surrounded by a wide array of witches, shapeshifters, demons, faeries, and gryphons, with a Navy SEAL or two mixed in telling their tales. Her books tell stories of magical kick-ass women and mystical alpha males that dare to love them. Travel, adventure and a bit of mystery flourish in her books along with a few companion animals to round out the tales.

Colorado is home; shared with her husband of many moons, a brilliant Chow Chow, a spoiled parrot and a forty-five-year-old box turtle. When she’s not writing, her time is spent kayaking, camping, hiking, biking or just relaxing in the great Colorado outdoors. During the winter you can find her curled up in front of a crackling fire with a good book, a mug of hot chocolate and a big bowl of popcorn.
