FUELED BY LUST: CAELIUS
Caelius Meron strips at Heat Seekers Male Revue just so he can find his mate. So imagine his shock when he finds her in a cooking class he was forced to attend. So what’s the problem? There’s twenty-two of them according to Rhia Brennan. Undaunted by her claim that he’s too young, Caelius battles every roadblock she places. But what if one may be too difficult to ignore?

Kallon Aceso knows exactly who should own his heart, but Ulixes Dionysus doesn’t appear to want it. But is it really something else buried so deep that it may keep them apart forever?

Travel with these two Insedi as they both chase their hearts desire, only to be thwarted by misconceptions and mistakes from the past. Can they scale these insurmountable walls, or will they have to walk away and forever mourn what they could never have?

Book 5 in the Fueled By Lust Series brings back the sexy males that make your legs tremble just by saying your name.
First of all, thanks for hosting me today. Also want to send a big kiss out to my fans. I’m nothing without you.

Let me start by saying that writing the Fueled By Lust series has been a trip. It’s led me down some pretty exciting and even some particularly strange paths. I’d actually researched the erotic romance genre for two years before ever starting the stories. I was a complete novice with the desire, but not the full package know-how. I read over 600 erotic romance novels just to see what had been done to death, the styles that riveted me, and those that made me put it down before I hit the end of the first chapter. I found that there are just so many ways to say penis without laughing your butt off at the ardent attempts to throw another description in the mix. It’s impossible. Just stick with the regular ones, I say. I think the reader will appreciate that more. I also found that I hated series where the hero or heroine is a cookie-cutter version from one to the next. It’s okay if they look somewhat similar due to lineage, etc., but please, let them have a personality that’s theirs alone.
I got lucky with my characters when I finally found them. I dreamed about them first—full names and all. These gorgeous creatures were forming out of a ball of foggy mist and the more I saw, the more intrigued I got. Each one was unique. Their accents were thick and sensual, and they looked like Greek Olympian gods. I jumped on the internet and researched the names Drusus, Severus, Cato, Lucien, Caelius, and Maxim and found it was ancient Latin. Boy, did that poke a stick in my creative juices. I would sit for hours and wonder where they came from, how they got here, and why? Bits and pieces started forming and I finally sat down and did what I call my ‘free style’ writing. I wrote anything that would pop into my head and then would step away from it for a few hours, go back, and then try to find a common thread that made sense. That’s when I found their genesis.
I asked myself, how does a group of gorgeous, alien hunks have ancient Latin names and happen to be half-human? Where would they have stumbled upon an earthling to mix with their original pure energy form? I discovered in my continued ramblings, that it was the other way around. A human had stumbled upon them. I had written the words, “Roman Emperor” and “500-300 BC” down on my ‘madness pad’. Excited, I then looked up any Latin based cultures in ancient times that had belief in the occult, life outside of Earth, space travel, divinity, etc. I found the word “Etruscan”.
The ‘fun and/or unusual’ fact that came out of this was that after I had written Drusus’s story and was well into my sixth one in progress, I discovered that there really was a Roman emperor named Lucius Tarquinius that was exiled from Rome in the same time period of the Insedi creation. He was also the last Etruscan emperor. Oh, it gets better. With more research, I discovered that his father was also named Lucius Tarquinius and his consorts name was Tanalius. Yep, freaked me out because the Insedi emperor’s name in the series is Lucien Tarquinius and in Book 4, his mate ended up being no other than TANA.
Another mind bender is the fact that I had the Insedi vortex entry point from their home world onto Earth occurring in the Chinati Mountains of West Texas. I figured it had to be a secluded spot or Uncle Sam would be all over them in seconds. So, for a little chill bump raise, go look up the Ghost Lights of Marfa Texas, a town just outside those very same mountains. It’s filled with tourists trying to figure out what the mysterious lights blipping on and off are. I discovered that little tidbit after I’d already written notes about the Insedi reforming outside the exit vortex as a ball of light.
So, I’m pretty sure they’ll cart me off one day for being a loon, but you have to admit…pretty nifty stuff. I’m just sayin’…
Lowering his voice, Caelius leaned in even closer. He feared he may have disappointed her, and he didn’t want to miss any part of her expression.

“Does what I do each night bother you?”

She looked up and blinked a few times before she spoke. Her voice came low and husky, and his skin pebbled.

“No. Not in the least. It was the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.” He watched her throat work on a hard swallow before she continued.

“Your body was gleaming and showed off every single muscle as you swung that sword. It was the first time I’d seen your hair down, too. It’s…it’s beautiful. After you won, you worked your way down the row of women and paid each one of them close attention. I’m sure they felt like they were the only person in the room when you looked at them. With every song, your body swayed perfectly to the music, and it mesmerized me. I…uh…yeah…it was great.”

Caelius was having a hard time focusing on her answer. Her jasmine-scented desire had resurfaced and was wreaking havoc on his concentration, not to mention his cock. It was at full length and pushing insistently against his jeans. He said the first thing that came to mind. Something he wanted very badly.

“I want to kiss you, Rhia.” He wasn’t expecting her to recoil as if he was a hissing viper. Her laughter was shaky and broken.

“Good grief, Caelius. Why on Earth would you want to kiss me?

I was born and raised in a small town between Dallas/Fort Worth and Austin. Wanting to see more than my small Texas town, I joined the Marines, which satisfied my craving to see more of the U.S. and my drive to see if I could be one of the few and the proud.

A firm believer in educating the mind, I have achieved several advanced degrees, the latest being a master’s of science.

My true love is writing erotic romance, especially about alien hunks that know how to treat their females.

Drusus, Severus, Cato, Lucien, Caelius, Maxim and many more have swirled in my dreams until I had to bring them to life and allow them to find love within the pages of the Fueled by Lust book series.

Book 1 DRUSUS was nominated as Top 5 Finalist and placed 3rd in the 2014 RWA Passionate Ink’s 9th Annual Passionate Plume Book Contest in Erotic SciFi/Fantasy Category, Book 2 SEVERUS achieved BEST BOOK review rating and won April 2014 BOOK OF THE MONTH Reader Poll at LONG AND SHORT REVIEWS, Book 3 CATO won the May/June 2014 BOOK OF THE MONTH Reader Poll at LONG AND SHORT REVIEWS. All currently released books in the series have resided made it into the Top 5 Bestseller Lists at Bookstrand.com within days of release as well as making it into the Top 10 Hottest New Releases in Erotic Science Fiction on Amazon.
