Yours Truly, 2095 by Brian Paone ♥ Book Tour & GIVEAWAY ♥ (Time Travel Romance)

Jeff Blue - the victim of a time-travel conspiracy - wakes up trapped in the year 2095. The only familiar face is J0, a robotic copy of the wife he left behind in 1981. But can she be trusted? J0 could be the only key to unlock Jeff's journey home, but it will require her to do something against her programming , something human.

During Jeff's perilous journey through the future, he will have to discover the truth about J0's origins, and solve the mystery behind how he wound up in 2095, in order to uncover the reality of his own destiny.

Armed with a one-way ticket to the moon, Jeff must race against the clock to seize what might be his last chance to return home to his time. A time without hover cars, Justice Computers, or TeleSkins - a time over 100 years ago.

J0 shook me lightly as she tried not to startle me out of sleep.

“Hey, hon. Do you want some breakfast?”

I cleared the cobwebs from my head.

What time is it?”

Light shot across the sterile interior of the town house. I turned toward the window above the bed. The sun was up, and the sky was very blue.

“Almost 9:30.”

I looked at the alarm clock to see exactly what time it was.

Nine twenty-nine. Again.

“Breakfast would be great,” I answered.

“I went to Eldorado’s already this morning. I bought groceries to get us through the rest of the week.”

“How long have you been up?”

“About two hours.”

I sat up in bed, and I let the covers fall to my waist. J0 went into the kitchen and grabbed some pans from the cabinets. I could hear her crack an egg over the frying pan. I rubbed my eyes and stood up.

“Do I have time to take a shower?”

“Go right ahead. Breakfast will be ready when you get out.”

I stepped into the bathroom and took another gander at my reflection. Yes. I was still looking at the face and body of my great-great-grandson.

The shower felt good, even though I had taken one before I had gone to bed too. There was something about Julie’s hostility in our last dream that made me feel guilty. After I stepped out of the shower and got dressed, I brushed my teeth. I heard the TeleSkin in the background while J0 was still cooking breakfast for us. I opened the bathroom door so I could see the television wall.

The man on the TeleSkin was dressed in a purple and black suit. He looked straight into the camera, which gave the disturbing impression that he was looking right into the living room at me.

“Here is the news …”

A troubling feeling came over me as I stared at him. It felt like we were actually locking gazes with each other. The news report was about someone who had been found dead in a plastic bag, and it was uncertain whether it had been suicide or homicide. Had they left their own life behind, or had it been taken forcefully?

It was like the newscaster directed the story at me only. Thousands of people in the area were probably watching that same newscast, but, for me, it felt more like a premonition.

“Can I turn this off and put on some music instead?”

I couldn’t stomach that creepiness anymore.

“Sure. What would you like?”

    1. Thank you! I tried to steep the future in the most realistic world I could, and tried to keep the romance portion of it subtle and not in your face. The most important thing for me was to immerse the reader in a way that they didn't FEEL like they were reading a book that takes place in 2095.

    1. And we have child #4 on the way!!! I hope you do read it, and enjoy it! I found time with this novel because we were living in Japan at the time, and I was on a leave of absence with my job back in the states, and I was a stay at home dad. The kids went to Japanese school which gave me about 30 hours a week to devote strictly to writing.
