Dream Warrior by Bobbi Smith 💕 Review, Book Tour & Gift Card Giveaway 💕 (Historical Romance)

From New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Bobbi Smith comes the sizzling story of forbidden love between a proud Indian warrior and the woman he cannot forget—or resist...

THE CONFLICT HE FEELS

For years Silver Wolf had fought against the white blood that flowed through his veins. He was an Indian warrior who would protect his people at all costs. Yet resisting the desire he felt for Cari McCord was a battle he would never win. He had saved Cari from certain death in a blinding Dakota territory blizzard one night. Her beauty mesmerized him and her passion left him yearning for more...

THE WOMAN HE YEARNS FOR

But Cari McCord shared the same beliefs and customs of the men who had brought so much misery to his tribe. She was one of them. How could he ever trust her with his heart and soul? But the more he denies his love for Cari, the more he is drawn to her as he surrenders to a temptation that could set him free—or devastate him forever.

ESCAPE INTO THE WORLD OF HORSES, STEAMY SEX AND BLUE WESTERN SKY

This story REALLY pulled me in!

I LOVE Native romances. They are one of my favorites to read, and while this is the first book by Bobbi I've read, I know it won't be my last.

Make no mistake, this is not a "froo froo everything-is-all-rainbows-and-sunshine" romance. True to form, it's graphic, parts are dark and prejudice is a prevalent theme, as was common in the setting's time period.

That being said, the love of Cari and Silver Wolf did manage to shine brightly. They certainly had many obstacles to overcome, both physical and within themselves, and I REALLY loved reading their journey to each other.

This book is written in a way I had never read before, where the third-person point of view shifts to every single character introduced, no matter how minor. In other words, the story is told from the eyes of numerous people, which had lots of pages spent on finishing the thoughts of those characters instead of maybe focusing on Caril and/or Silver Wolf. I liked reading when they were together, and there wasn't a whole lot of that in this story.

But, what of the book was spent on them, I really enjoyed. Their path to each other certainly was not easy, and these two truly deserved the Happily Ever After they received!

Cari didn’t know why she felt compelled to return to the clearing that night. Silver Wolf had never met her there after dark. Still, she hoped he might be there. When she reached the edge of the clearing, her breath caught in her throat at the sight of him, standing motionlessly in the waist-deep pool of water. Silver Wolf. Her dream warrior! Moonlight shone upon him, turning the glistening water on his bare chest to a silver sheen. He looked like a magnificent creature of the wild.

She spoke in a whisper. “You’re here…I was hoping you’d come.”

At the sound of her voice, heat surged through him. He knew a driving urge to take her in his arms, but he remained stoically where he was, allowing the cool waters not only to temper his desire, but also to shield his state of undress from her.

“Why were you hoping to see me, Little Snow?”

Their eyes met as she started toward him. “I’ve been coming here every night since we got back, because I had to tell you that I’m sorry for what happened between you and my mother. She was wrong, Silver Wolf, very wrong.”

“Are you so sure?” His pride held him immobile, though he really wanted to hold her and kiss her, and never let her go.

“I’m sure. You would never hurt me.”

Cari knew she had to prove to him how important he was to her. Ignoring the chill of the water, she waded out toward him. Her need to touch him again was foremost in her mind. She looked up at him in the moonlight.

“I love you, Silver Wolf.”

Her words erased all the pain and doubts he’d been feeling. Giving in to his need, he swept her up in his arms and crushed her to him. “Little Snow…” he said her name in a groan of passion as his mouth descended to claim hers.

  4. Hi! I hope everyone enjoys Dream Warrior. Re what's the best book I've read this year...hmmmm, that's a tough one. Outside of re-reading my own :), lately I've been getting into history books. Right now I'm finishing up PT109 about John Kennedy. I just wish my favorite romance authors would write faster. I love anything by Julie Garwood and Suzanne Brockman.
